SIRUNCHA (SIRONCHA) means, Head Up, is situated at the last southern part of Maharashtra state. Three rivers-Wainganga, Godavari and Pranhita - divides the area from Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra states. In other words, it is the meeting point of 3 rivers and three states. But due to ‘Naxalite’ problem, thick forest, lack of communication facilities, and the tribal population, the area was totally neglected by the Government machineries. Recently, three big bridges were constructed and the communication is strengthened. The area is 200 km away from the Tribal district, Gadchiroli and 203 km away from Chandrapur District headquarters. Today Carmel Academy Sironcha, the esteemed CBSE stream of education, has started in the year 2015 in a tiny tin-shed, with just 48 students. Today it has grown into a three storey building having 450 students, hailing mainly from agricultural families. In spite of all the hardships located in a tribal and Naxalite affected area, the children are very ambitious and receptive. Through the medium of Carmel Academy, we would like to connect this institution with other towns of India as well as the western countries of the world.
